Assignments

What a campus life without any assignments?

In fact, there's a little too much assignments given by our "beloved" lecturers and professors.

I've finally letting go of my holiday mode, and slowly trying to catch up on my long ignored campus life. After all, I may be lucky with my result last semester, but it may not repeat itself. I have to work hard to ensure that history repeats itself.

Dream will always be a dream unless we change it.

So, let's start with the course that has the most difficult (maybe not so difficult, just plain annoying) assignments.

PAD 170 - Government & Politics

So far, we've only been given two assignment. Yes, only two. Hold your judgment until I'm done elaborating.

One of the assignment is a book review; another is an analytical-critical essay.

Book Review

We can look for any book related to government and politics. it can be conceptual, analytical or descriptive book about government and politics in Malaysia or abroad. It can also be theoretical, discussing about the different school of thoughts in the study of the field. The review should be no less than 2000 words.

We have to submit our review on September 11, 2009. no review will be accepted later.

Essay

1. According to Francis Fukuyama in his book, "The End of History and the Last Man", western liberal democracy is the best form of government. He writes: "What we may be witnessing is not just the end of Cold War, or the passing of a particular period of post-war history, but the end of history as such: that is, the end point of mankind's ideological evolution and the universalisation of Western liberal democracy as the final form of human government" (Fukuyama 1989, p. 162). Those who support Fukuyama believe that he is right by looking at the fact that most democratic countries achieve better economic development and political stability than non-democratic ones.
  • Do you agree with Fukuyama's thesis? Why?
  • What do you think are the obstacles for a country like Malaysia to adopt a democratic form of government?
  • How do you explain the principle of parliamentary democracy in Malaysia?
  • Does the current political situation in Malaysia reflect her commitment to such principle? Why?

2. The President of Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) Yong Teck Lee had attempted to table a motion of no confidence in former Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. Not later than that, the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) president Wan Azizah Ismail followed suit. Both, however, failed.
  • By referring to the workings of a parliamentary system, explain the reasons why both leaders failed to force Abdullah to step down through a motion of no confidence.
  • What are the roles of a "party whip" in parliamentary system?
  • What are the main differences between British and Malaysian parliamentary system?

3. Technically speaking, the president of the United States of America cannot be impeached easily by the legislative branch.
  • Explain, with specific examples, why the impeachment process is difficult.
  • Compare the selection and removal of a president in presidential system with that of a prime minister in parliamentary system.

4. The legislative process in the United States of America is relatively difficult and can cause deadlock. In Malaysia, a piece of legislation can be passed easily without much hassle.
  • Explain, with specific examples, why it is difficult for a bill to be passed in the United States and why it is relatively easier in Malaysia.
  • Do you agree with the suggestion to broadcast parliamentary debate in Malaysia? Why?
  • How do you assess the quality of parliamentary debate in Malaysian parliament?

The essay should be no less than 2500 words excluding endnotes/footnotes and references. References cited must be listed and should follow the latest Harvard Referencing Style.

The essay should be submitted on September 11, 2009.

Don't fuss yet, take a deep breathe. We only have to choose ONE of the topics for essay assignment. Our professor are not evil demon trying to torture our souls on Earth. He know that we can't possibly do ALL four of them.

2500 words is approximately 15 pages. 2000 words should be around 10 pages then.

That mean, we have to write about 25 pages by September 11.

Note the date. The day World Trade Center was attacked by terrorist.

So, which topic do you think I should choose for my essay assignment? I already chosen "May 13: Declassified Documents on the Malaysian Riots of 1969" for my book review.

P/S: This is only for PAD 170. I have 5 more courses this semester.

Today

I found out where I learn to procrastinate.

Like Mother; Like Daughter.
I figure I don't have to give examples of my laziness. They'll be too many to list down, and I'm to lazy to type down. How did I found this out? Well, my campus is in the same area as my mom's office. So, if I stay at home on weekdays, I'll carpool with her to go to class. Today, after I showered, I noticed Mom is still cozily asleep in bed. So, I nudged her and ask if she's going to work because we're going to be late. She gave me a sheepish smile and cheekily said "Malas. Nda mo. Nda mo. Nda mo. Adeq bawa la kereta" before she went back to sleep. Before I go, I asked again, and she rolled out her tongue and said "Bye!".

My ignorant behavior toward my campus life finally caught up with me.

Ignorance is bliss, NOT!
Well, I never really cared for what happening in my campus. For these 6 weeks of class, I've only slept in campus for a week. I don't participate in any college activity. I didn't even realise UiTM's Validation process was last week. Yes. Why? Because the day I decided to skip a whole day of class for a day of fun in the sun, is the day to validate my courses.I guess sunburned back is not my only punishment for ditching, I will now have to face possible consequences for this. I'm not sure, whether I'll be fine, or I'll be fined. Worse, I may have to drop few subjects. Worst, I may have to drop ALL subjects. Meaning? I'll have to postpone my studies for ANOTHER semester.

Obviously, I haven't fill my parents in on this. They didn't know I didn't attend my classes. I'll have to face this alone. Whatever the consequences is, I'll have to make up a different version for my parents. Oh God! Please give me a good news tomorrow! I promise I'll be good and excel this semester.

Ur Majesty is back!

Bow down to the rockstar royalties!
Feizal got the Guitar Heroes back! Empress Viv is in town! Princess Cerys is still here! Time to rock!

Too bad Prime Minister Roxy has to go ashore for work in England. And Emyr Mel the Don has some business in Kuala Lumpur. Or else, the whole band can reunite and rule the show! Oh well, today's gig has been splendid. Much work need to be done, thou. Our royal skills has been a little rusty as ruling the people taken us away from Guitar Heroes. In addition, our rockstar diet, which consist of Yo-yo Pearl Milky Tea and Cupcakes, were not complete.

Be patience, Your Highness will serve our royal performance before you know it.

I don't look my age.

My mom has some guests over to the house, along with Kak Sofia. They were talking about some products when I came to the living room with their drinks. Obviously, as the host, I'm obliged to serve and entertain them. That's when one of them asked loudly to my mom and me, "Ni yang paling kecik? Brapa sudah umur kau ni? Form 3 suda ka?" (She's the youngest? How old are you now? Form 3 -15 years old-?)

I let out a little laugh and told her the truth. I'm going to be 19 in less than a week. And I'm studying Diploma in Public Administration in UiTM Sabah. To tell you the truth, I'm ambivalent by this. It's actually a pretty common remarks on my looks. I know it myself that I look younger than my age. Most of the time, I even act younger than my age. Usually, when people point that out, I even exaggerate it a little more. But tonight, I'm not sure whether to feel flattered or offended by the comment.

I was acting at my best behavior. Serving drinks, making polite conversations. I didn't do anything remotely silly or that will point out the kid in me. Why do they still think I'm 15? 15 and 19 is 4 years differences! FOUR YEARS. 48 months. 192 weeks. 1461 days. 35064 hours. Gosh.

I may have to start wearing makeups for the opposite reason. I'm going to wear them to look mature. Yes. MATURE. Not old. If I want to look younger, I'll just go out barefaced. It'll take four years out of my age.

Parents

Don't it ever crossed your mind that they are the most annoying human being in your life, yet you can't help but to love them unconditionally anyway?

Well, I do. All the time! Especially toward my mom. Gosh, she gets into my skin every time, yet I still love her, and do whatever she said.

My mom, well, you can say that she's sort of a Nazi. The world revolves around her, and nothing else matter to her. You do what she says, OR ELSE! Yes, I have that kind of mom. My aunt always label her as the "big boss", I guess that's the polite way of saying it. That power that she holds and demands doesn't stop just in my family, it extend to her siblings and in her office. Well, maybe she's to do that in her workplace, as she is the senior executive there. Nevertheless, that doesn't excuse her from taking her work mode home. She need to learn to stop bossing people around! Have some limit, woman!

People always say, if you want someone to stop ordering you to do something, do it miserably. It doesn't work; it NEVER work. She still boss me around to do it, anyway. Even when I pull a face, throw tantrums, argue with her, everything that can cause me to be labeled as an insolent child. She still won't stop.

Don't get me wrong, it's not that I don't want to help out my own mother. I do. She just need to put a line, so that I can live my own life. Yes, I need a life, that doesn't revolve around serving her every little needs. I don't mind driving her to places, or running some errands for her. But I need my day off too! I need a time away from this family too! She can't always expect me to drop everything I do, just to drive her to a shop that is 2 blocks away from the house. She can't expect me to walk away from whatever I planned with my friends, just because she need me to drive her somewhere, when I already told her in advance (1 week notice!) that I have plan and will not be able to be there for her. She need to do things on her own again, just like before I know how to drive or run errands. She need to let go of me. Or I will do it for her.

Thankfully, I have such an amazing group of friends. They know what my parents are like, and they don't hold it against me every time I walked out on them. I'm so grateful to have them in my life, that understand how my dysfunctional family works. However, no matter how tolerant they are to my behavior, I still feel guilty. I feel bad for not being able to be there for my friends when they need me the most, just because my parents don't understand the true meaning of friendship. Sometimes, I just want to do what Intan did in her teenage years, and be rebellious. But I can't, I don't have the guts to do it. I can't plot against them like she did. And I know my parents will be extremely disappointed in me if I do.

That doesn't stop me from planning it, thou. I plan for everything in my life. Everything from my daily life to my career path. So far, I'm always on track with my plans, apart from the occasional disrupt from my parents (but I do have backup plans for these things, so, no worries). Yes, I plan to be rebellious. How thoughtful. Intan's rebel by doing whatever crosses her mind on that exact moment, based on guts and instinct. And I plan my mischievous ways; how, when, why, where, who. That definitely shows that being sisters doesn't mean you'll have the same personality and thinking.

I will not spill any details about what my plans are, because that will be stupid. I will, however, put off that plan until I have enough of it. When that happens, you'll never see it coming. Of course, I'd warned Intan about this, she just hopes whatever I planned, whenever I decided to accomplish it, I won't screw up my life over it. And I will always keep in touch with her, even if its once a month or once a year. So, I promised her that.

I'm turning 19 this month. So, legally, I don't need my parents' or guardian's approval anymore. I'm responsible for my own life. My parents need to get around with that idea, and release me. They should learn from their mistakes. Or at least remember what it's like to be 19. They're lucky they have Intan to keep me sane and in place. So far, she's the reason why I'm still tolerating with their behavior. Maybe the reason doesn't sound right, since I should love my parents more than my sister. But at least it has done its deed.

I love you, but I just need to get away from you. Or else, I'll never achieve my full potential. You're just like a form of drug, the kind that boost you up when you take it in small portion; but kills you if you overdose. I won't let the latter to happens to me, at any cost.

Michael Jackson Memorial Service

I bet most of you missed the memorial service for our undisputed King of Pop, Michael Jackson. It was at Staples Center last night (7.7.2009). I searched Youtube for the videos of the memorial service. And I decided to share it all with you here. The videos are in order. The videos are not in HD, and kind of blurry. But it's the only full list of videos of the memorial.

Part 1 - The Jackson Brothers carried Michael Jackson's gold-plated casket into the public memorial service. The siblings also donned sparkly gloves in honor of their brother, as well as Versace attire. The Italian designer was one of MJ's favorites. Pastor Lucious Smith speaks, calling Michael "a brother, a son, a father and a friend."

Part 2 - Mariah Carey delivers a performance with Trey Lorenzof "I'll Be There," a 1970 #1 hit for the Jackson 5, and that Carey remade into a hit of her own in 1992. She could barely hold back her tears. Queen Latifah talked of idolizing Michael Jackson while growing up and paid tribute to MJ by reading a Maya Angelou poem called "We Had Him."

Part 3 - Lionel Richie tribute "Jesus In Love" for Michael Jackson. Berry Gordy, who discovered the Jackson Five and founder of Motown, delivered a classy yet sweet humored speech on Michael Jackson's early years in music world and how MJ inspired him. Berry Gordy said that MJ not only raised the bar, he broke it. MJ was "like a son" to him, and after acknowledging his "sad times" and "questionable decisions," called him the greatest entertainer who ever lived.

Part 4 - "When he did his iconic moon walk, I was shocked. It was magic. Michael Jackson went into orbit and never came down. Thought it ended way too soon, Michael's life was beautiful. Sure, there were some sad times and maybe some questionable decisions on his part, but Michael Jackson accomplished everything he dreamed of. I think he is simply the greatest entertainer that ever lived," Berry Gordy continues.. A Michael Jackson video tribute plays, featuring clips from his performances, fan reactions, news stories and music videos.

Part 5 - Stevie Wonder performed "Never Dreamed You'd Leave In Summer" in Michael Jackson's honour and said that MJ will be remembered for his musical greatness. He personalizes the lyrics, adding in Michael's name: "I never dreamed you'd leave in summer, but now I find my love has gone away. Michael, why didn't you stay?"

Part 6 - Kobe Bryant and Magic Johnson share the stage to tell their stories about how Michael Jackson had been the rock behind their success. Kobe begins, saying, "Michael was also a true humanitarian... he always cared deeply for those in need. Michael also made the Guinness Book of World Records for most charities supported by a pop star". Magic added levity and a great story about eating a bucket of KFC with MJ and thanks MJ for opening up doors for African-Americans, and tearfully describes meeting the music legend as the best moment of his life. Jennifer Hudson delivered an amazing cover performance of "Will You Be There", which was written entirely by MJ himself.

Part 7 - Reverend Al Sharpton, a longtime family friend of the Jackson, gave a remarkable speech and credits Michael Jackson with everything from elevating the stature of African-American entertainers to getting Barack Obama elected president. Sharpton also comforted MJ's three children by saying "Nothing strange about your daddy; what strange is the things he has to deal with". John Mayer performed his tribute for MJ with a beautiful instrumental version of "Human Nature" on his guitar.

Part 8 - Brooke Shield, who met Michael at the tender of 13, shared her a heartfelt memories about how MJ help her get through the pressure of being under the limelight in such a young age and their mischievous friendship. Shield said "MJ's laugh was the sweetest and purest laugh of anyone I have ever known" and MJ always reminded her of "The Little Prince". Shield also shared to the world a line from MJ's favorite song, "Smile" by Charlie Chaplin, that said "Smile though your heart is aching".

Part 9 - An extremely teary-eyed Jermaine Jackson, Michael's brother, sang MJ's favorite song, "Smile" by Charlie Chaplin. Martin Luther King III and his sister Bernice King take the stage. Martin Luther remembers how his father had always said that people should be the best of what they are. "Michael Jackson was truly the best of what he was," Martin Luther King III said.

Part 10 - The continuation of Bernice King's speech. Bernice added "May we all be inspired to go and let our light shine". Texan congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee speaked, and immediately references Michael's child molestation charges: "We understand laws, and we know that people are innocent until proven otherwise. That is what the Constitution stands for". The member of the U.S. House of Representatives, announces she is introducing a measure honoring MJ's humanitarianism.

Part 11 - Usher took the stage and Michael Jackson's song, "Gone Too Soon." Eerily appropriate selection as some of the lyrics include, "Like a comet, blazing 'cross the evening sky, gone too soon. Like a rainbow, fading in the twinkling of an eye, gone too soon." Usher breaks down as he tries to sing the last line of the song. Then, another video piece which features the Jackson 5 singing "Who's Loving You."

Part 12 - Smokey Robinson speaks about meeting the Jackson 5 and when they recorded his song, "Who's Loving You." He says he first thought to himself, "This boy cannot possibly be 10 years old... I quickly went over to him because I wanted to see his birth certificate. I could not believe that someone that young could have that much feeling and soul". Afterward, a budding child prodigy in his own right, Shaheen Jafargholi from Britain Got Talent, brings the house down with "Who's Lovin' You."

Part 13 - Shaheen Jafargholi thanks Michael Jackson for the opportunity and advices given. According to Kenny Ortega, who worked with Michael on his tours, MJ had seen the 12-year-old on YouTube and was so impressed that he invited him to perform during his comeback concerts in London. Kenny Ortega presents a tribute to the fallen star. Some of the performers from Michael Jackson's concert, along with the stars from the memorial service and family members, sing "We are the World," which was one of MJ's favorite parts of his comeback concert. Then, Fans and memorial service participants, along with Michael's kids who are on stage, sing "Heal the World."

Part 14 - Jermaine Jackson thanks everyone for attending the memorial service. Marlon Jackson, another one of Michael's brothers, is so emotional that it's difficult for him to speak at first. He then says he doesn't understand "why the lord has taken our brother to return home after such a short visit on Earth." Then, in reference to all the crazy attention that Michael has received, he says, "Maybe now, Michael, they will leave you alone." Marlon ends his speech with, "I would like you to give our brother, my twin brother, Brandon, a hug for me." In the most unexpected and touching moment of the event, MJ's daughter Paris Jackson speaked and said "I would like you to give our brother, my twin brother, Brandon, a hug for me.".

Part 15 - Pastor Lucious Smith closed the memorial with a prayer.

Sleep

Sleep. It is everyone favorite past time. Everyone enjoys sleeping. I don't know anyone who doesn't. It is true, that there's always a minority number that doesn't agree with this statement. But to us normal folks, the time spent in our dreamland is precious.

I love to sleep to. Every moment unconscious is every moment I treasure. It is where all my wildest dreams and imaginations come true. Believe it or not, I think I have the ability to control my dreams. Unfortunately, lately I was unable to enjoy such things anymore. In fact, I'm lucky to be able to get a dreamless shuteye for a couple of good hours at night.

Last night alone, I woke up in the middle of the night for a quite number of times. I toss and turn all night trying to find the most comfortable position. I turned the air conditioner on and off. One moment I was turning on the music, another time I kept my room in silence. It was so frustrating. My eyes are swollen for not getting enough sleep.

Worst of all, this make me too fatigue to do anything during the day. And my parents aren't happy about it. Of course, they don't know the reason behind it. All they see is, I leave my room when the Sun is above the roof, and laze around all day. Sometimes they even caught me resting my eyes on the couch in the living room, and start nagging about how I wasted my semester break. When I try to explain that it is caused by lack of sleep, they say it all my fault for doing whatever I'm doing with my laptop. "Tu la, chatting malam2 saja tau." Parents. They always accused us of doing things we don't do. Yes, I do chat online. But they don't know I spent more time trying to get some sleep than chatting.

So, I went online (ain't that a surprise, NOT!) to find out more about my imsonia and what can I do to cure it. After all, July is coming fast, and I need to be in better health for the coming semester. Lack of sleep is equal to lack of brain power, lack of memory; and as a student, as a person with a responsibility, I need my brain in its best performance.

It is defined as difficulty initiating or maintaining sleep, or both, despite adequate opportunity and time to sleep, leading to impaired daytime functioning. Apparently, imsonia is very common and occurs 30%-50% of the general population. It affects people of all ages, although it is more common in adults and its frequency increases with ages. Some studies even shows than women are more frequently affected than men.

Imsonia has many causes. Among them are: situational and stress factors (jetlag, physical discomfort, cigarette smoking, caffeine intake, etc.); sleep hygiene (using the bedroom for things other than sleep, going to bed hungry, etc.); medical and psychiatric conditions (breathing problem, obesity, acid reflux, depression, etc.)

I think mine was triggered by my sleep hygiene. My bedroom is not a bedroom. It's an office. Or more. The laptop is here, so is the TV, printer, hi-fi, lots and lots of books. I always eat prior to sleep, after all, midnight snacks are fun. I always sleep in a room with too much noise, somehow I find rock music soothing. And I do my work on my bed.

Sleep hygiene is one of the components of non-medical treatments for insomnia and includes simple steps that may improve initiation and maintenance of sleep. Sleep hygiene consists of the following strategies:
-Sleep as much as possible to feel rested, then get out of bed (do not over-sleep).
-Maintain a regular sleep schedule.
-Do not force yourself to sleep.
-Do not drink caffeinated beverages in the afternoon or evening.
-Do not drink alcohol prior to going to bed.
-Do not smoke, especially in the evening.
-Adjust the bedroom environment to induce sleep.
-Do not go to bed hungry.
-Resolve stress and anxiety before going to bed.
-Exercise regularly, but not 4-5 hours prior to bed time.

It all seems to be a few simple steps. But that's so-called simple steps need pure discipline to imply it. Thankfully, I don't take caffeine or alcohol, so two steps crossed out of my list. Oh, I don't smoke, another one crossed. "Do not go to bed hungry"? But I'm always hungry. "Exercise regularly"? I'm already too do anything. "Sleep as much as possible to feel rested, then get out of bed (do not oversleep)"? Honey, I wish I can! I'm imsoniac! Gosh, sometimes these medical writers can be illogical.

Nevertheless, I will try my best to obey these "simple" steps as advised. Maybe not tonight. Starting tomorrow night, perhaps?

Vain Attempts

Have you even been in a situation where you are needed to focus, but your mind seems to wander elsewhere, refusing to focus on what's important? In the back of your mind, you know what your priorities are. You have to do this, this and this. The whole list. Yet, you can't seem to find the force to do it.

I do. More often than you know. And I hate it when it happen. Every time when it does, I'll hate myself for letting myself suffer the consequences. I knew what will happen, it happened before. So, why do I keep letting myself down? I'll be angry with myself, I'll lose self-confidence, I'll be facing whatever the consequences are. The feeling of regrets. And of course, my parents' nagging and lecturing. It all can be avoided, if only I'm strong enough.

Weak. That's what I am. Weak. I can't even fight with myself, let alone fight with others. Often I wonder, will I survive in the real world? I live in a bubble, created by my family. I always try to break the bubble; to step outside the invisible line; to touch, feel, smell, hear, taste things that I am sheltered from. I'm still trying. But the little voices in my head is having doubt, why would I want to leave the bubble? Am I out of my mind? It's so comfortable in here, with nothing to worry about. Everything been taken care of. Why do I want to suffer alone outside? What is wrong with me?

Maybe I am crazy. I can't even force myself to study for my exam this Saturday. My mind can't focus on the notes I have, the letters in my textbooks, the terms used in my Political Science course. All it can think about are Guitar Hero in Feizal's bachelor pad, my red Sony Vaio and pink Sony PSP, my top friends in my Sony Ericsson, whatever show on TV, and my mum's Honda Stream. Oh, and the Rockstars' Diet which consists of Yo-yo Ice and cupcakes. As a student, the only tasks in my job description are study and submit assignments. Even to do those two simple things, I found difficult. Now, do you believe I can survive?

I can.

I will.

One day.

I know I will.

I will not stop trying.

I have you.

That should be more than enough to keep me from losing hope.

Don't stop believing.

Bus Trip

As you may know, this week it's the first week of the final examination in UiTM and some other IPTAs. You'd expect the dramas that will be filling these weeks around the campus will be in some way related to the stress due to the examinations. I was wrong.

I was meeting my mom today for lunch, and to meet with the Campus' Deputy Director about the circumstances about my hair color. As usual, I waited for her at the Tangga Merah, which is nearer to my dorm room than the bus stop. After a short while, she arrived. As soon as I opened the door, her first word was "Bas kamu terbalik di depan." I was dumbfounded. And as she drove by the scene of the bus accident, which was between Tangga Merah and the junction to Cluster A & Cluster B. Indeed, the bus, not UiTM's, but T. U. T. (which stands for Tuaran Union Transportion) was toppled.

Here's some of the pictures.

I'm not sure about what actually happened. But by word of mouths, it is about the brakes dysfunctional. My theory is, the bus was heading up to the library. But due to the age of the vehicle itself, the engine couldn't handle going uphill and died. Unfortunately, the brake chose that precise moment to not cooperate. Since the road is curvy, the bus, which was going downhill in reverse, hit the sidewalk, and toppled to its side. Oh, before it toppled, it hit a few trees and a lamp post.

It is reported that no student was hurt. I'm not sure there were any students because it was on the way up to pick up the students. However, it is also said that one person was injured. I assume its the driver or the conductor.

Wish me luck! I really need them.

ADHD

The study week is coming to the end. The final exams will replace it sooner than expected. My first paper is next Wednesday. What paper will it be? CTU 101 - Fundamentals of Islam. Sound easy enough, right? You're probably right. But that doesn't mean I should just put the books aside, and lie on the couch with V on my lap. Which is the exact thing I'm doing right this moment.

I planned to study CTU this week. Everyday CTU, well, at least I start with CTU until I completely understood the concepts before I move on with another subject. I really thought it'll just take me two days before I can start studying PAD 120 - Introduction to Political Science. But I was dead wrong. I think I'm suffering from ADHD.

What is ADHD? Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. From the name, you'll probably guess what it is already. What are the symptoms of ADHD? Well, impulsiveness, hyperactivity & inattention.

Impulsiveness: acting before thinking of consequences, jumping from one activity to another, disorganization, tendency to interrupt other people's conversation. I'm partially impulsive. Of course, I never act before thinking. I'm constantly thinking, how could that ever happen? However, I do jump from one activity to another. One minute I'm doing this, the next I'm doing something else. Or more like one minute I decide to do this, the next I'm doing something else. You'd be able to see me behind the wheels, wanting to go to this place, but instead, I drove to another place. In addition, I do always interrupt people's conversation. Not elderly's conversation, because that would be rude. I'm raised with the phrase "jangan menyampuk orang tua bercakap", but my parents never say anything about my peers' conversation. Ha-ha.

Hyperactivity: restlessness, often characterized by inability to sit still, fidgeting, squirminess, climbing on things, restless sleep . Seriously, need I elaborate on this? You should have known me better. I scored every elaboration of hyperactivity. Though, Intan is more, much more, hyperactive than I am.

Inattentive: easily distracted, day-dreaming, not finishing work, difficulty listening. Whoa! I'm everything it says. I do have difficulties listening, my parents always scold me when I was younger for always getting what they say wrong. In fact, they still do. I daydream a lot. I daydream so much, that I'm daydreaming about my own empire. The normal fairy tales dreams are getting old, so I moved on to something bigger. I doodle in class all the time, in fact, you can see some of the doodles here in my blog. I rarely finish my homework in school. Easily distracted too! Especially when it comes to study, I would just read a few pages, before my body starts to do something else. I would move around, saying "hmm, maybe I need to make a drink". Few minutes later, "hmm, I need some music". Few more minutes, "hmm, wonder what's on TV?".

Seriously, I really do think I have ADHD. Maybe its situational. My case always come whenever I need to study. These few days, I've been trying to study CTU 101, but everything around me was seducing me to do something else. My phone keep buzzing. The car wants me to drive him around. Giving me excuses. You know, just like in the movie "The Confession of a Shopaholic", where all the clothes are talking Becky into buying them. Well, in my case, they are talking me out of studying.

If I tell mum that I suspect myself to have ADHD, she'll just scold me, tell me off for giving her to most amazing, (and original, I must say) for not studying. She'll just going to tell me to study anyway.

Even if I don't have ADHD, I'm positively, 100% sure that Intan does. Maybe I'll ask her to see a doctor about it.

Lost

I've received 3 news today. Good news; Bad news. And the other one was what I considered a bad news until i received my good news, it turn out not to be as bad as the new bad news.

Confused? Well, you won't be for long.

The original bad news for today was supposed to be my parents' homecoming. They've been away for 2 weeks. They went there with my uncle and aunt. Today, they're coming back. No more home alone for me, no more late night movies, no more peace & quiet, no more sleepovers. Basically, no more fun. Not that I did anything irresponsible during the past 2 weeks. In fact, I've been an angel. Well, compared to my devil sister, I really am. She's super fun, I'm super... Well, boring.

If you didn't know, I've sent my Vaio for service the day I sent my parents to the airport. My Vaio had a heatstroke. So, I've sent V to the gizmos hospital for a check-up, and they submitted him into the ICU. They need to perform a cardio surgery on him and put in a pacer. Haha. In technical language, I overheated the processor, it's just matter of time before it explodes, so the technicians will have to repair and replace the processor and the other damages I've done. *sigh* Luckily, I'd noticed it earlier, or else, it probably will explode, just like Roxy's. If I did, I probably be dead by now. Why? I exploded my Vaio in just mere 4 months of usage. Mom won't be too pleased about that. Anyway, back to the story. Today, V is allowed to check out of the hospital. My heart was doing the summersault when they called me to tell me about it. Immediately, I excitedly went there to fetch him. Me, two weeks without him, was terrible. Yes, I did get a replacement for the two weeks by borrowing Baba's laptop, but it's nothing like my Vaio. Baba's Dell may had filled my time during the absence of V. But it couldn't replace him. Vaio was like my other half. You can have just so many friends, but only one soulmate. (I realized I sound cheesy, but that's my analogies, just bear with it) This is the best news ever. Having your other half back.

As I mentioned, my Good News wasn't all good news; it brought me the worst news of all. How can having your other half back become the worst news, you ask? Imagine this situation. You received a phone call from the hospital where your other half is. You just found out that he (or she) finally woke up after 2 weeks in coma. Obviously, you'd be jumping up and down, and running to the hospital as soon as possible. (Unless you secretly wish that he die so that you can get his insurance money and whatever he have. To that I can only say *gasp*) However, as soon as you're there, standing next to his bed. You're so eager to hug and kiss him. But when you try to, he pushes you away. And his first words to you are "who are you?". How do you feel? Devastating, isn't it? Worst, if you depend on him for almost everything.

That's my worst news of all time. I lost all my data in my Vaio. All. Everything. E-V-E-R-Y-BLOODY-SINGLE-T-H-I-N-G!!!!!

You have your other half back, but only physically. He's no longer himself. He's just like an empty shell. He's not suffering from amnesia, where there's possibility that he will gain his memory back. No, this is permanent damage.

As you may know, my finals are coming up. In fact, its next week. Today is Thursday, thus, 4 days before finals. And guess where all my notes are? That's right, in my Vaio. I didn't managed to backup my files, because it was so sudden. I did asked the technicians to backup my files before the check up. Before they found out it's worse. Somehow, it slip their minds too. You can't tell me to just copy the notes from my classmates. Because I do my own notes. All the notes in my Vaio, was all me. I read all the bloody books I have, and made my own version of it. All my bloody efforts. But you know what, that's not the main problems. It's all the pictures that I saved in my Vaio. All the memories of my past, vanish just like that *snap*.

I couldn't even bring myself to complaint to the technicians. I was speechless. I was so.. so.. horrified, that I couldn't find any words in me to say. Me, out of words? That's a rare occurrence, and this was one of it. I'm clueless. I don't know what to do.

Now, I'm just going to get all the software that I used to have in Vaio back. Re-do my notes. And think about the pictures later. *sigh*

Spot-check

There had been a spot-check at the cluster a moment ago. Yes. A moment ago. At 2 in the morning. I was sleeping when they knocked on the door. Hard.

Is it necessary to do a spot-check in the middle of the night? Okay, maybe that's the whole idea of a spot-check. Well, actually it started around midnight. Someone passed my room fussing about there's people in uniform in the cluster. So, my roommate investigated about it further. And turns out its true.

So, immediately, we started cleaning the room. Ha-ha. The window that has never been touched ever since we moved in is now squeaky clean. There's no more shirts hanging on the closet door. We cleaned up good. And hid the things that are not supposed to be here. And the electronic devices that we haven't registered and paid the bill for.

We have waited half an hour. They were still in another block, so we couldn't wait. And now I can't sleep. What can I do at 2 in the morning? I don't even have any assignment left to do. I've submitted them all.

Darn Campus Life.

I Love English

I think I have mentioned quite a few times that this week is UiTM's English Week, right?

So, last night was the Talent War. it was quite a big hit. After all, it's like a concert. The only concert we can get in the campus. I didn't go to see it; I wanted to do my assignment, instead I fell asleep. But my friends and classmate told me it was a madhouse. Everyone is constantly screaming that you can't hear the contestants sing.

Oh, did I mention that the campus bunch of shemales performed as well? Well, I was told that they did. One of them sang Sixpence None Richer's "Kiss Me", in a very seductive way. Well, that close it. I definitely not regret hearing or seeing that part of the show. Ha-ha.Now, you do remember I have Spelling Bee today, right? I bet Adib does. And now, he'll give me a hard time after reading this.

Well, I did fairly well in the elimination round. In the previous post, I have explained the rules of the Spelling Bee. Oh, I forgot to mention, we're divided into 2 groups. Pre-comm and Part 1 students in one group; Part 2 - 4 students in another. So, Mike and I were separated in two different group. We're placed in two different room. From each group, we're, again, divided into a few rounds. And the last 2 standing from each round will make it into the final. I was in the last 2.

Since there're less contestent in my group than Mike's, we finished it off earlier than them. We're then asked to enter the room where Mike's group were. When I stepped into the room, the group still hasn't finished yet. Mike was still in the running. Then, he was eliminated. I think he saw me coming in and choked. Ha-ha. Sorry, Mike! Better luck next time.

Anyway, the final was different from the elimination round. We have to choose a number from 1-40, and the panel will tell us the word we have to spell. The starting was pretty rough, as everyone chose the number with difficult words. Everyone, except this one guy who's very lucky and got all easy words.

Oh, I lost. Yes, Adib. I lost. I'm not Akeelah from "Akeelah and the Bee". Stop laughing, now.

Want to know where did I go wrong? Well, I spelled "adolescence" instead of "adolescent". Stupid, silly mistake.

Dangerous Handphone

We're all are handphones users. We can't function without them. If robbed, we'd rather the robbers took our purse -or wallet- than our phones. Don't even dare to deny it. Despite their usefulness, handphones get a lot of negative press. Excessive and improper handphone use accounts for hundreds of thousands of injuries and deaths around the world every year. Yes, there're deaths caused by handphone usage. I didn't know it myself, either. A recent study showed that a coordinated 20 year-old on a handphone has the same reaction time as that of a 70 year old. This waned concentration can lead to many dangerous situations. And while most of us have made it this far without the need of protective shoulder pads or helmets, the risk of handphone injury still exists. The following is a list of cell phone injuries, ordered in their likeliness to occur, from most to least.

1. Bumping Into Inanimate Objects

Injuries from simply walking into inanimate objects are steadily rising along with the rise in cell phone use. It’s not uncommon for people to admit themselves in hospitals with lacerations and bruising as a result of walking blindly into signs, lamp posts etc.

2. Falling

While inanimate object bumping accounts for a large chunk of cell phone related injuries, falls also contribute their share. Cell phone users falling down stairs is not only very dangerous, but damn embarrassing too. The most recently publicized incident of this was when Valerie Jarrett, one of President Barrack Obama’s political aids, stepped off a curb while using her Blackberry and severely twisted her ankle.

3. Walking into traffic

There’s been a sharp rise in incidents of people walking into traffic, as oblivious texters step off of sidewalks and cross streets during red lights.

4. Road Accidents

At this point everyone knows driving and talking on a cell phone is bad. Across North America, most states and provinces have made talking on a cell phone against the law. The result of transgression? A hefty fine.

5. Battery Explosion

Exploding batteries are probably the least publicized of all cell phone related injuries but there are quite a few instances of serious injury and one recorded death.

6. Carpal Tunnel

Teens have been carted to hospitals in the thousands with hand and wrist problems as a result of excessive text messaging or SMS. Blackberry users are some of the biggest abusers of cell phones which has lead to an increase in cell phone-related Carpel Tunnel syndrome.

7. Cell phone up your bottom

In the real world, this is probably the most unlikely way to injure oneself with a cell phone…But in the prison world, this is actually a fairly common occurrence. Prisoners are often caught with various items in their… umm ‘puckered starfish.’ Cell phones are banned in prison and inmates are forced to… uhhh force cell phones in places where only boarder guards dare to probe.

8. Swallowing a cell phone

Technically, the only incident on record wasn’t of someone swallowing a cell phone of their own accord, but in fact having one shoved down her throat by her angry boyfriend (assuming now ex-boyfriend).

9. Cancer

The media has been talking about cell phones causing brain cancer ever since their inception. In terms of likeliness of occurrence however, this ranks as the lowest. There is still no solid evidence to support this claim.

Darn Dress Code

Darn the UiTM dress code. And darn the power-mad security guard. I was fined today for my attire. If I was in any other college, apart from Islamic institutions, there's nothing wrong with my attire. Can you believe it? We're still using the same dress code since UiTM first established. UiTM did improved its dress code last year, but it was taken back. And now, we're stuck with the old ones. The very same one as it was in my mum's time. With shoulder pads and all.

The left is the new dresscode that has been taken back. We're using the old one on the right.

You want to know what I was wearing? Here's the picture. See, I actually violated more than one. The tops too short, no matrix card, jeans too tight for UiTM's standard. But the security guard was kind enough to fine me with one violation: the jeans.

Since it is my first time to be fined for anything in campus. My first time being caught violating the campus's rules. I don't know what it means. All I know if I violated more than 3 times, I'll have a hearing and pay for the consequences. Hmm, I'll ask around. Hopefully it's nothing.

Cruel Life

I stumble upon this website : http://www.russiatoday.com/news/news/36941 today.

Young hero died protecting sister from molester

A seven-year-old boy who died defending his older sister from a potential rapist has been honoured posthumously. Zhenya Tabakov's mother received the order of courage medal on behalf of her son.

Just over two months ago Galina lost her son and she's still struggling to get over the shock.

Zhenya was brutally murdered by a robber, as the boy was trying to save his 12-year-old sister from being raped.

It all happened in late November, in the small military town of Noginsk-9 - a place where even small crimes are rare.

Around midday, a man rang the bell of the flat where Zhenya and his family lived.

“I asked who it was. The man said he was the postman, and he needed to give us a telegram and get a signature. So I opened the door,” recalls Zhenya’s sister Yana.

The little girl says the man held a knife to her throat, and demanded that her brother bring him all the money he could find. Zhenya did as he was told. But when the man started undressing his sister it was more than the boy could bear.

Zhenya seized a knife from the kitchen and plunged it into the man's back. This didn't kill the attacker, but it was enough to set Zhenya's sister free. She ran for help. But it was too late for her brother - he was stabbed eight times.

Thirty-five-year old Sergey Kiyashko is in custody accused of the murder. Police say they have all the evidence they need to convict him.

The entire population of the little town seemed to show up for the farewell ceremony. The heroic death of seven-year-old Zhenya was something that the federal prosecutor's office could not pass by either. The chief inspector Aleksandr Bystrykin paid tribute to the boy's courage.

“At the prosecutor’s office, we witness many atrocities on a daily basis. But this case has sent many of us into shock. And it's played a part in the drafting of a new law on tougher punishment for those who commit crimes against children,” Bystrykin said.

Receiving the order for her son, Galina was unable to speak.

Nothing can bring Zhenya back to life again, but the little boy's heroism has become the pride of the town - and of his school in particular.

The boy’s photo now occupies the desk where he used to sit. Later on a special plaque will be fixed onto it. And only the best pupils will have the chance and honour of taking that place.

I couldn't find any word to say, but the world's evil. Greed is everywhere. War is inevitable. Innocence no longer exists. We're better off dead.

A Sleepless Week.

I haven't update my blog for a while, has I? Oh well, I've been busy. It has been a hectic week. With tons of assignments. Seriously, did the lecturers spent their holidays thinking of assignments to give us? Don't they go somewhere to relax or sumthing? I guess not, because as soon as I enter the class after the holidays. The first thing they say is : "Welcome back! How's your holidays? Now the holidays' over, I have assignments for you."

If they didn't gave us assignments before the holidays, I may be OK with it. But with MAT 112 (math) alone, I need two weeks to finish. Why? Because I have to solve every darn questions in the book. EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM. Oh, including the past years exam papers too. I hate, HATE math. And I think Mr Saiful figured that out. So, he kept picking on me in class. Making me sit in front row. Shooting me questions whenever I pay less attention. (I couldn't risk not paying attention at all) I think he only knows my name in my class. Well, he need to loosen up on me, it's not like I'm going to flunk his class. I don't flunk. I don't my whole family could accept anyone that flunk at anything. (except, probably, housework.)

We have another assignment for PAD 120 (Political Science). I'm already 3 weeks behind on the weekly journal assignment given on our first PAD 120 class. Well, that's my own fault for delaying my work. And my own stupidity for choosing difficult titles. The new assignment is, well, of course about the current politics. We were given 4 topics, and we have to choose only 1. (Thank goodness for that!) I chose the one about power. And I have to explain how Dr Mahathir Mohamad differs from Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. As in how they use their power: manage & manipulation. Also, how power can be use to ease the burden of the lower income group affected by the rising costs of living (fuel & food). I have to write minimum 10 pages excluding endnote & bibliography. It have to be critical and analytical. And my sentences must be tight. I can't write the way I wrote the journals, which is loose and have a lot of craps. Darn, if I can write the way I usually write, this would be just fine. But no, no more craps. Mr Arnold said its OK for journals but not this. Oh yeah, I only have 3 weeks to do it.

For CTU & CSC? Well, I'm done with CSC 114's assignment. It's a computer class. I'm a geek. D'oh. But CTU? Well, I've gathered all the information needed, but still haven't sort them out. I kept pushing this work aside so I can do the others first. I guess I think lightly of this subject. Sorry ustaz! I will get on with it as soon as possible. After I done my PAD assignment.

I barely sleep this whole week. I only be able to rest my eyes for a few hours every night. I'll be up till 3 o'clock in the morning to do my work, then wake up early for class. I'm always tired. I barely talk to others unless to ask & answer. I'm like a zombie. I bet I'd make a hot, awesome zombie. But I also have dark circles under my eyes now, no thanks to my lack of sleep. I look like a panda! Only skinnier. (I guess I must have look like a panda all week! I've been wearing a lot of black & white this week!)

I'm a superb, awesome panda-eyed zombie.

Freshman

I'm a freshman. Yes, I am. I'm a freshman, all over again. I'm no longer a newbie in UiTM, but I'm still a freshman. Back where I started. Will be doing the same thing all over again, only in different course, with different classmates.

I just came back from a meeting with the DPA seniors. Part 1-Part 6 meeting. It's a ritual here in UiTM, for the Part 6 students to held meeting with Part 1. I'm in Part 1, again. The Part 6 students have responsiblities on Part 1 students. Part 6, the students that will be graduating next semester, will guide the young ones. Help them with studies. Etc.

What I hate about being back in Part 1 is, going through the process of getting to know the seniors all over again. It's not like I refuse to know them. It's how, and what we have to get through to get to know them. They handed each one of us a list of their names, and ask all of us to get the signature of the names. If we don't get at least half of the list by the dateline, we'll be punished. Sound easy enough? Well, here's the trick, it's not their real name. Not even their nickname. Some of the name they put in the list are : "Mr White Body Whitening", "Katak di tepi Laut", "BIGATEMPIRE", "meow!". How the hell are we going to guess who's who.

Well, luckily I did it before. All I have to do, is find match one person to the correct nickname. Then, ask he or she to help me point me to another name. And continue doing so to the other person. However, there's always some corrupted seniors taking advantage of the situation. They'll ask for something in return. Such as, free lunch or dinner. Or have us do silly, embarassing things. I hate this part the most. I don't like being treated like a fool. They are abusing their power. Well, what I've learned in Political Science is, the subject will only gain power if the object let them. So, I won't be the object. They want respect and power? They have to gain it the right way from me. I'm not afraid of them, just because their bunch of seniors. What's the worst they can do, anyway?

Heavy Rain

Last night, there were a heavy rain pouring down Kota Kinabalu. With lightning flashing every minute. Flooding the streams and rivers. Even the stream opposite Queen Elizabeth Hospital was almost flooding into the main road. It was pouring so heavy that I couldn't see the road when I was driving. I have never experienced rain this heavy. Probably this is what they call 'Storm'. Well, if not, it is close enough.

Anyway, I was suppose to go back to the campus last night. Because my first class today started at 8am. I didn't want to wake up an hour earlier and rush to class. I rather spend the night in campus. Well, since it was raining heavily, I didn't.

What I did was, stayed in Viv's place until the rain ease off. Yeah, I forgot to mention that I was with Viv and her family during the rain. I was there to send Intan's photo album. Viv wants to borrow some pictures of her during their childhood. Apparently, she didn't capture much photos during her childhood because she was an ugly kid. (She was not ugly, but just not a cute kid. But look how gorgeous she turn out to be! A real life ugly duckling.) She needed them for the slides. For her wedding reception this weekend.

Well, as usual, if I go to her place, somehow I manage to forget the time (or be forgotten by my parents) and stayed there longer than expected. After sending them back to their house, (we went to Sutera Harbour to meet the party planner), I wanted to head back to my parents' house. Then I realized, no one's home at that time, and I didn't switch the lights on. There's no way I'm going back to that house in that weather. Even if it's just 8 houses away. It's not that I was scared, (okay, I probably was.), but a dark empty house next to a half hectare (or is it acre? whichever smaller, i guess.) jungle can be intimidating.

Luckily I didn't went back and waited in Viv's because the situation turned from bad into worse. The electricity's out. Imagine me in the house, alone, in the dark, during stormy rain. I would probably have drive myself back to Viv's. I told Baba that I couldn't bear to drive myself back to the house. He told me just to wait there till the rain ease off. And he'll send me to campus tomorrow, instead. He doubt that the road to my campus isn't underwater yet. Turn out he was right. Because today, one of my classmate said she couldn't enter the campus due to the bridge to our campus was underwater. She had to come early morning today instead.

Anyway, I learn to play Black Jack from Feizal last night. The electric's out last night. We couldn't do anything else at his bachelor pad. So, with a few candles to light up the table, we played Black Jack. We as in, Feizal, Ika, Meldon, myself and Cerys. Yes, Cerys. My 9-years-old niece know how to play Black Jack. And even better than me. Oh, don't worry. We weren't gambling. We did play with chips, but they were worthless. Feizal couldn't possibly gamble with us. He may be fun, he's not THAT irresponsible. It was okay. I played a few rounds before I went back to my parents' house.

And today I woke up at 6 just to come here (campus). Darn.

Accident

Oh Gosh! I had an accident today. My first accident, EVER! I never had a car accident before. Despite how fast and dangerous I drove. People who rode in a car I drove should know that.

I was on the way to 1 Borneo to catch the movie "Bedtime Stories" with my two cousins, DD & Farha. I don't even know the name of the road. It's near the traffic light. From Likas to Inanam or Kolombong. I was from Kolombong, after picking up Farha, to Likas. It was at the junction. I thought the car already left, so I didn't look in front and look at the side. Mum's car is automatic, it move slowly if I don't press the break and leave it in 'D' gear. I didn't press the break. I decided to let it move slowly, while I wait for its clear to enter the lane. There's suppose to be a long empty road in front of me.

But the car was still there. She pressed the break at the last minute. So, my car (or Mum's car) kissed the MyVi's butt. I pressed the break immediately when I, and Farha, noticed the car is still in front of us. Farha screamed my name. My car was so slow, I wasn't even sure whether I hit the car, or managed to stop in time. Farha thought we didn't, so she told me just to leave. After all, we can't see any scratch on the MyVi's bumper. But I waited to see, whether the driver will stop on the side of the road. She did.

And she's very annoying. Screaming and yelling. Saying I'm a jackass driver. I'm blind. Cursing me in Mandarin. (Note : She didn't know I can speak Mandarin until a guy come to help us with the situation) Calling another person to see the car. Telling the person on the other line what a stupid driver I am. I already said I'm sorry and I'll pay for it. Plus, you couldn't even see any difference. How much could I possibly cost, anyway. I'll show you the picture.

Can you see anything on the bumper? It's on the right. Look closer. Closer. Near the round-thingy. Can't find anything, right? Exactly what I meant. And the Chinese girl is making a scene as if I burned down her car. Well, it's actually her baby sister's car. And that's why she's so damn fussy about it.

Let me zoom it up for you. There's a tiny dent. Can you see it? Yeah, that's all. The boyfriend of the MyVi owner came to check on it. He said there's nothing wrong with it. Just let it go. I admitted my mistake. But the girl wouldn't bulge, and screamed at the guy instead. Poor guy, if he married his girlfriend, he'll have a Nazi as a sister-in-law. Well, I gave them my number, and my dad's. After all, if I need to pay as consequence, Baba's the one footing the bill.

Well, after that, I went to 1 Borneo to watch the movie. A silly accident shouldn't affect my day. Especially the one that didn't even leave a mark on Mum's car. When I just about to step into the cinema, the guy called me and said he talked to his girlfriend, and everything is settled. I don't have to pay for anything.

Darn, I shouldn't even bothered to tell my dad about this. But the girl was making so much fuss that I felt obliged to tell Baba. Now, my whole family know I had an accident. Little or not. Intan even called me to laugh at me. But when I told her the detail, she asked why I didn't punch the girl to shut her up. Mum called to ask about her car. My brothers? Well, they didn't bother to call and ask. Thankfully. They probably know its nothing because Mum didn't call them to complaint. And this probably decrease my chance to get a car.

Now I couldn't tell my passengers to relax while I'm driving because I never had an accident before. Darn it. Guess I shouldn't have been so confident of my driving.

Assignments

It's only been a week. And already I have a few assignment. Luckily, just a few. And obviously I will have to finish & submit them before the dateline. I will, and I intend to. I'm in university now, not school anymore. If I'm still in school, I would most probably just ignore it. After all, I'm known for never handing in my homework. Never, yes, that's right. Never. You can ask the disciplinary teacher in Sabah College or Chung Hwa Primary School if you don't believe me.

For Political Science class, I'll have to write a journal every week. Write about politic, of course. My opinion on the national & international issues. And must be 2 pages long. Well, this task is quite easy actually. Only once a week. And write on my opinions. So, there's no right or wrong. I can express my political view. Just like blogging, except I'm going to talk politic. How hard can that be? Right? I can just listen to my parents talk if I run out of ideas. After all, that's all the adults talk about.

For Fundamentals of Islam, I'll have to write on "Ajaran-ajaran Sesat di Malaysia". So, I have to do a reseach on all the fake Islam religions. Such as Ayah Pin and Nabi Melayu. It's going to be quite a challenging task for me. Since I'm not sure what I have to do. Or how to do it. It's an individual assignment, each of us have different title. So, I couldn't check -or copy- my classmate's. And note that I'm not a religious person. Oh well, I'll think of something.

For Business Math, well, math homework. Every exercise on the book has to be done. I hate maths, always do, always will. Forever & Always. Not like Joe Jonas & Taylor Swift's forever & always. My hatred for math is for eternity. And my lecturer seems to start loathing me too. He caught me reading novel during the lecture yesterday. Well, I'm sorry, I can't help my hatred for that subject. Plus, I learned the chapter he was teaching back when I was in Form 4. So, I kind of know every equation and formulae from the chapter. My lecturer tried to trick me by making me do the solution on the board when I wasn't paying any attention -which pretty much all the time-. But, like I said, I know how to do it already. So, I easily solve the problem. Now, he wants me to sit in front of the class from now on. He should just let me be, I'll catch up with it. He need to pay attention to those who need his help. Okay, I know I sound a little bit arrogant here. But I just really really hate the subject. It's not like I can't keep up or I think it's hard. Math is not as hard as most people think. I just have a strong dislike for numbers. I prefer words. Have a math problem? Don't bother asking me, I won't even bulge to help you out even if I know the answer. Go ask Jojo, she's the math lover.

For English and ICT, well, so far, the lecturers haven't given us any assignment. Good for me!

For extra curricular activity, I joined Brass Band. Yes, brass band, the one marching musical instrument. Like the one in the movie "Drumline" starring Nick Cannon. Except, we don't have to choreograph. I rather take Brass Band than National Kesatria or Civil Defense or Outward Bound Kesatria. All the others do is march, march, march. Under the hot sun. Be screamed at by the commanders. Learn to march, learn to order a march. Everything is about marching in the sun. Or something equivalent to so. Well, I'm allergic to the sun. Okay, not really. But exposing myself to the sun will only make my skin allergies worse. And we have to do this for 2 hours every week? No way! If you are going to force me to do something, at least force me to do something I can tolerate on. Plus, playing musical instrument isn't that bad. Even if they say I'm going to have to take the same thing for the next 3 semester. And I have to study the musical theories. So, what? At least I have an extra skill in life. We don't need any skill in marching. Just follow the order. Yeah, I guess the other choices would be easier to score during examination. (Yes, we have to take extra-curricular examination.) But, I can anything if I set my mind into it. And I have learned to play the keyboard when I was younger, so I have the basic already. And if all things failed, I'll ask Josh to tutor me. Or Meldon. Whichever.
